WAYS TO COMPLETE YOUR
365 CHALLENGE

Ways Clubs Are Bringing the 365 Challenge to Life
Every club approaches the 365 Challenge a little differently. The most successful events are simple, inclusive, and built around what your club already does.

Here are a few proven ways clubs have completed their 365 kilometres:

One-Day Club Challenge

Some clubs build the 365 Challenge into an existing training day.

For example, clubs have run their challenge alongside Saturday time trials, where all athletes participate and their distances are combined to reach 365 kilometres.

To make it a full community event, many clubs finish the day with something social, such as:
  • A pancake breakfast
  • A barbeque or club gathering

Food can be offered by donation or tickets can be sold, with proceeds going toward fundraising.

Weekend Team Challenge

Clubs can spread the 365 kilometres over a full weekend.

Team boats head out throughout the day, with each participant contributing to the total distance. Some clubs track kilometres per paddler in the boat and combine them to reach the overall goal.

This format allows for strong participation and a fun, team-focused atmosphere.

Regatta Day Challenge

Many clubs host regattas in June, making it a perfect opportunity to incorporate the 365 Challenge.

Clubs can:

  • Track total kilometres raced throughout the day
  • Invite athletes, alumni, and spectators to contribute additional distance
  • Set up a simple fundraising table or donation link (we can help you set this up)
  • Add a small community event such as a BBQ or post-race gathering

This approach allows you to layer Making Waves into an event you are already running, with minimal extra planning.

Month-Long Club Challenge

For a more flexible approach, clubs can complete the 365 kilometres over the course of the month.

Members contribute kilometres during regular practices or on their own time. This makes it easier for more people to get involved, regardless of schedule.

Fundraising can be done alongside the challenge, with participants collecting donations from friends, family, and the community.

Keep It Simple

You don’t need to create something new. The easiest way to run a successful challenge is to build it into what your club is already doing.

However you choose to do it, your club’s 365 Challenge will bring people together and create meaningful impact for autistic individuals and their families.
