Got questions? We've got you covered!

GENERAL

When is Making Waves for Autism?
June 1–30, 2026, across communities throughout Canada.

What is the 365 Challenge?
The 365 theme represents the reality that autism is 365 days a year.
You can choose one of three options:
  • Complete 365 kilometres
  • Complete 24 hours of activity
  • Complete 7 consecutive days of activity

Do I have to do this on the water?
No. You can participate on the water or on land. Paddling, rowing, walking, running, cycling, or any self-propelled activity counts.

Do I have to complete it in one day?
No. You can complete your challenge anytime during June, at your own pace.

Can I participate without access to water?
Yes. This is an inclusive event, and you can participate wherever you are.

Can kids participate?
Yes. All ages and abilities are welcome.

How do I track my progress?
Log your kilometres, hours, or days using:
  • Your fundraising page
  • A fitness app (like Strava)
  • Your own tracking method

Is there a hashtag?
Yes, use #MakingWavesForAutism. You can also tag us on Instragram @makingwavesforautism

TEAMS & CLUBS

What is the Team Challenge?
Teams, clubs, workplaces, and community groups take on a shared 365 Challenge while fundraising for Autism Canada.

No. You can complete your challenge in a way that works for your group, whether in one day, over a weekend, or across the month.

Can we incorporate this into an existing event?
Yes. Many groups tie it into regattas, time trials, or club events, and some host fundraising barbecues or breakfasts.

What happens if we raise $2,500 or more?
Your group will receive Autism Canada’s Literacy Program training (up to 15 people), plus recognition as an inclusive club.
